Nearby Places & Archives

I live in the Hampshire market town of Petersfield, which is the mid-point between Chichester in Sussex and Winchester in Hampshire - the locations of the West Sussex and Hampshire Record offices. The Surrey Heritage Centre is a short distance to the North of Petersfield and the Keep, the new location of the East Sussex Record Office, is situated at Falmer, close to Brighton. I visit all four locations regularly.

I also visit the Portsmouth History Centre where there is a fine collection of naval printed sources and the Southampton Records Office which has a very good maritime records collection.

I extend my coverage to include the National Archives where I have access to the Nation's history. My speciality is military records but I will consider any task if within my capability.
