Trace Your Family History

Family history research comes in all forms, ranging from searches for birth, marriage and death certificates to very specialised work using a particular record source. Whatever your need, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to find out how I can help.

Some likely scenarios are listed below:

Getting Started

From a known starting point I can conduct a search for General Registration Certificates of births marriages and deaths and trace your ancestors in the decennial census returns back to the early years of the 19th century. I am able to do this for any location within England and Wales.   Such a search will provide clues to the identity and whereabouts of your 18th century ancestors.

County Records

You want to further your research in Hampshire, Surrey or Sussex. I can conduct local research at a county level where I have access to local parish registers, parish records, records of probate, the county quarter sessions records and many other records applicable to that county. There is the potential to trace your ancestors back into the 16th century.

The National Archives

Most of us have at least one military ancestor and with the bulk of military records held at the National Archives it is inevitable that your research will lead you there. I regularly visit Kew and specialise in military records. The records are rich in detail and offer plenty to the researcher. You may even discover how much money your sailor spent on tobacco each month!

Specific

You have a specific requirement and simply want someone to conduct research on your behalf. Maybe you cannot visit the repository yourself or maybe you want help in breaking down that brick wall. You provide me with the detail and I would conduct specific research to your exact requirements.
